Regent won Gampaha District Swimming Meet Championship Again
The 11th Annual Gampaha District Gampaha District Swimming Meet organized by Regent International College was successfully held on 26th and 27th July 2014 at the Regent International College Swimming Pool.
Mr. Akhry Ameer, General Secretary Sri Lanka Aquatic Sports Union graced the ceremony as the chief Guest of the Meet.
The Swimming Meet was conducted in accordance with the rules and regulations of the Sri Lanka Aquatic Sports Union (SLASU) and the meet was sanctioned & officiated by SLASU officials. Regent International College sponsored the event together with Mead Johnson, Sri Lanka Insurance, Makeen Book Shop, Ceylon Cold Stores Limited, Metropolitan Agencies, Glory Swim Shop, Water Plus. More than 600 talented young swimmers representing 40 reputed International and National Schools in Gampaha District participated in different events conducted for different age categories.
Thimali Lihansa Bandara with 2 1st places with 2 new records and 2 2nd places won best swimmer-girl from Lyceum International School Gampaha while Dineth Sanjula Jayakody of Maris Stella College – Negombo won 5 1st places with 5 new records was selected as Best Swimmer-Boy.
Regent International College won both Girls and Boys Championship at the 11th Annual Gampaha District Swimming Meet 2014. Gampaha Bandaranayake College was the first runner up boys school and Gateway College Negombo was the first runner up girls school.
The Regent International College Challenge Trophy was won by Regent International College again for the 4th year continually obtaining 559 points. Obtaining 154 points Sumeda College became the overall runner up of the meet.

Under 14 Champion – Girls – Thimali Lihansa Bandara – Lyceum International School-Gampaha
Under 14 Champion – Boys – Tharaka Nadun Sirimanna – Thakshila College Gampaha
Under 16 Champion – Girls - Hansika Bandara - Holy Cross College - Gampaha
Under 16 Champion – Boys - Dineth Sanjula Jayakody – Maris Stella College - Negombo
Under 19 Champion – Girls Varuni Muthukutti – Regent International College- Gampaha
Under 19 Champion – Boys S.A.P.D Sirimanna – Bandaranayaka college – Gampaha
