Hindu New Year Programme 2011
 Sinhala
and Hindu New Year celebrations were held on 06th
April 2011 at the school premises with the participation of
students, parents and the teachers of the college.
“Avurudu Charithra” such as
worshipping parents and adults, partaking in the Avurudu meal
and anointing oil at an auspicious time were performed at the
beginning and children, parents and teachers enjoyed taking part
in various traditional New Year games such as Pillow Fight, Tug
o’ War, Keeping Eye on the Elephant and Eluwan Kema etc.
Traditional Avurudu dances and
songs presented by groups of children trained by the Music and
Dancing teachers were some of the highlights of the event.
Everyone present was treated with
delicious Avurudu sweetmeats such as Kavum, Kokis & Kiribath at
the Avurudi Table organized by the parents of the College.
